Girl Power!
It's all I can hear in my head while watching this movie.
Directed by Drew Barrymore, I sure was expecting something totally different, but it turned to be amazingly good. Ellen Paige is great here, totally lovable and her style is a kind of good grunge, I-wear-the-first-thing-I-see-in-my-closet type: Amazing! The movie is about a girl named Blisster(Paige), who has an underdog life in a small town near Austin, Texas, and has nothing much to do. She finds a flyer about a Roller Derby competition in Austin while shopping with her mom. She falls in love with it, so she go to the try-outs and gets in the team.
Her whole adventure in the Roller Derby world, a cute band leader called Oliver, her best friend Pash, her lies to her family and all, makes the movie interesting enough, not taking in account the super funny Jimmy Fallon and the script; the photography, the sountrack, the cast: give it a perfect harmony.
This movie gets a 10 from me.
I love it now!
You sure get a good time, as well as a girl's revelation and life lessons.
